Why do I get the error, "Unable to create Text to Speech" when starting the app?

The app has a dependency on the Google Text-to-speech Engine. Some device manufacturers, e.g. Samsung, Xiaomi, have developed their own engines and default the device to use theirs instead of Google's.

The engine can usually be swapped under Settings. The exact menu options may differ but should be similar to:

Settings > System > Languages and input > Advanced > Text-to-speech output > Preferred engine
